BANGOR

Bangor station was opened by the Chester & Holyhead Railway in 1848. The up side platform building was originally the main station building with a forecourt on the town side. An additional loop line and platform face was constructed on the site of the forecourt by the LMS during the 1920s. At the same time a new building housing the main entrance and ticket office was constructed facing Deiniol Road. The station is operated by Arriva Trains Wales and also served by Virgin Trains.
